Survey of a Filipino Community - 1985

Northern San Mateo County, especially Daly City, have become associated with Filipino Americans although there are large numbers of other Asian Americans in the area as well. The strong presence of Filipino Americans in the area goes back to the 1970s and by the 1985 their numbers were quite large in the suburban towns/cities of Daly City, Broadmoor, South San Francisco, and San Bruno. This photographic survey presents the visible signs of Filipino Americans in this region, with a concentration on businesses. Those wishing more information may wish to look at the book Pinoy Capital: The Filipino Nation of Daly City by Benito M. Vergara.
